Summer School on Argumentation: Computational and Linguistic Perspectives

September 4th - 8th 2014

Grants

Scottish-based students

A limited number of grants are available from the Scottish Informatics and Computer Science Alliance (SICSA) for students attending Scottish universities. These grants cover the cost of registration and, if necessary, accommodation. They do not cover travel, however since you will be attending a SICSA-sponsored event your institution's SICSA budget should cover travel.

These grants are available on a first-come, first-served basis and are only available at the early-bird rates (£500 including accommodation or £250 without accommodation). The deadline for applications is 13th July 2014 23rd July 2014.

If you wish to apply for a SICSA grant, tick the box when registering. You will need to provide the name and e-mail address of your PhD supervisor so we can check your eligibility.

Note that the SICSA grant can only cover the cost of accommodation if you select the residential rate (£500) when registering.

AISB travel award

The Society for the Study of Artificial Intelligence and Simulation of Behaviour (AISB) have kindly agreed to allocate one student travel award to the summer school, to cover the travel costs up to £300 for a student at a UK university.

The AISB award is open to members and non-members of the society, with the successful applicant also receiving free one-year membership. A condition of the award is that the successful applicant write a report on the summer school for publication in the AISB Quarterly newsletter.

For more information, including details of how to apply, please visit the AISB website. When applying, you must indicate that you are applying for the grant allocated to the Dundee Summer School on Argumentation.
